wimbledon 2012
Day 10 at the Wimbledon had the women’s semi-finals as its main event with Agnieszka Radwanska crushing Angelique Kerber’s title hopes and she became the first Polish woman in 75 years to reach a Wimbledon singles final.

She triumphed 6-3, 6-4 on the Centre Court and qualified for Saturday’s final match. Kerber had started well early in the match before falling off the wagon. Kerber had eliminated Kim Clijsters and Sabine Lisicki in the earlier rounds of the championship. She started the match with her bold shots landing were she planned but became inconsistent and thus made things easy for Radwanska.

In the second semi-final match, Serena Williams booked her place in the final with a 6-3, 7-6(8-6) victory over second seed Victoria Azarenka. Azarenka proved no match for Willimas who dispatched her with relative ease. Azarenka rarely had a look-in and was often scrambling round the court behind a barrage of punishing shots from Williams. The match was over after about eighty minutes of play.

The final match between Radwanska and Williams will take on Saturday, 7 July 2012.
