The Best Story Teller contest was created by Jingla Nation Productions, a Nigerian based Film and Content Production Company with the aim of attracting large audiences to Poets and Writers who are yet to publish a book and give them optimum exposure.

The aim of the contest is to create and promote the next generation of Poets, Writers and Film Makers, and Literary prodigies who will follow in the tradition of the likes of Wole Soyinka and Chimamanda Adiche in projecting Nigeria to the world. Three winners would be picked at the end of the contest and each of the three winners would be given opportunities and writing internships in Film, publishing and media, and the winner will also get a publishing deal apart from the price money, offering a platform to gain adequate exposure to kick off a career in writing.  

Prices will also be given to the top Entry for each month of the duration of the contest, and the winning entry will be published on the Best Story Teller Blog. At the end of the contest all the top twenty stories and poems will appear on the Best Story Teller Blog. Updates, Tips, Inspiration, and learning resources will also be available daily on the blog.
